A Bit About SafeChurch
We started off reaching out to Summit Christian Church with free resources, warning, and exhortation to self-assess with our vast collection of evidence. Summit Christian Church did not respond.
During the second phase of our outreach, we'll look through Summit Christian Church social media and internet materials, reporting below our findings. When we've finished, we'll share it with Summit Christian Church, and they will have the opportunity to address the concerns and have them removed from their SafeChurch profile. Green flag churches will be promoted on the SafeChurch main page, and one-red-flag churches with warning that hopefully will lead to a change in behavior (if enough people are vocal).

SafeChurch, LORD willing, endeavors to collect all of the available information and present each
lie, deception, false teacher, false church, false doctrine, and dangerous music, each with it's own
landing page, with all evidence laid out clearly and concisely. Let us not be hearers of GOD'S
WORD only, but also doers. Expose the deeds of darkness. Or as JESUS says, "Why do you call ME,
'LORD, LORD,' and not do what I tell you?" and, "In the end, many will come to ME and say, 'LORD,
LORD, look at all that we've done in YOUR name!' and I will say, 'Be gone from ME, I never knew you."
Just know, that this is in obedience to GOD and HIS WORD, and if you rage against it, you rage against
GOD and expose yourself. Don't defend the evil and lies and deception. Show you are a true disciple of
JESUS. Pray. Respond in love. Ask questions. Have conversations. Maybe you find something I said that
was wrong and you just know it. We can have a conversation about it. You can love me. I can love you.
By this, the world will know that we are disciples of JESUS, by our love for one another. I might be wrong.
You might be right. If we can love each other, perhaps I will change things on the site and thank you for
bringing it to my attention. I only want TRUTH on this page, and nothing but TRUTH on this page.

Concert Worship
Celebrating Pagan Holidays
Concert worship is when the leaders are not leading the congregation to worship GOD, but rather distract the congregation with professional concert elements and shifting the focus to the leaders and their abilities. Providing entertainment. This is an emergent church element as it caters to the desires of the flesh and of the world, distracting away from a heartfelt interaction with GOD. The presence of this element triggers a secondary investigation into worship leaders and their discernment, whether or not they are allowing dangers into the church or if the church has become emergent.
Christmas and Easter are not biblical. Even if you explain that there are no examples in CHRIST or HIS disciples to follow in celebrating these. Even if you explain early church history showing zero evidence to support the idea of either one. Even if you explain the Catholic Church is recorded in their own history books as combining together biblical ideas and pagan holidays to create something new in “the church,” and they voted and agreed and codified it.
I’m not Catholic. The world celebrates both. That’s reason enough for me not to. Being holy and set apart from the world can be easy in some things and difficult in others.

Summit Christian Church is promoting following the Mormon Jesus in The Chosen. "Join us on Mondays," they say, to watch Season 4.

Summit Christian Church promotes SYMBIS in their church, allowing the world to aid them in marriage. SYMBIS partners with many churches, including dangerous, false churches, but there is nothing about GOD at all in their approach to marriage, marketing their services/assessment process. Only promising pleasure, success, and "the marriage of your dreams".
Summit Christian Church shut their church down and went online only, encouraging everyone to mask-up and socially distance... taking their orders from the media and enforcing the government's illegal mandates in the church... even making light of the situation, asking everyone what their favorite mask is.
Summit Christian Church supports and promotes Operation Christmas Child, a Samaritan's Purse ministry (under the leadership of the dangerous Franklin Graham). Thanks to Franklin, they have partnerships with loads of false teachers, false churches, false music, and... there are reports coming back that are quite disturbing, to say the least.
Summit Christian Church encourages people to be proud, while GOD makes it quite clear what HE thinks of pride, and warns HIS children to avoid pride at all costs.
Summit Christian Church encourages people to celebrate the Catholic holiday, Ash Wednesday, despite there being no mention of or instruction in GOD'S WORD to do so, or even what that would entail.
Summit Christian Church encourages people to listen to Christina Aguilera, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Phil Wickam (K-LOVE/TBN/Bethel)
Summit Christian Church encourages people to participate in Celebrate Recovery, a Saddleback Church ministry (Rick Warren - super dangerous). Anything that leads you to him or his church is dangerous and we should have nothing to do with it. Also, there are many issues with the curriculum used in Celebrate Recovery.
Summit Christian Church encourages people to participate in Rooted, a discipleship program, whose pastor is from Lifeway. He, his wife, and Rooted, have ties with false teachers and TBN.
Summit Christian Church encourages people to follow Financial Peace University, and Dave Ramsey, of TBN.
Summit Christian Church encourages people to participate in Grief Recovery Method, which is a service of the world offered to people of the world for advice and counseling for loss and grieving. After reviewing their site, I saw nothing whatsoever about GOD, JESUS, or GOD'S WORD. I also saw no evidence that anyone was a Christian at all. John James was quoted as putting family and honesty above GOD. Not the sign of a disciple of JESUS. Why outsource grief counseling anyway? A church filled with hundreds or thousands of "brothers and sisters" and they still need to go to the world for advice and guidance? Do we not know that Satan is the god of this world? If we do not take our grievances with each other to the world's court system to settle it (as they do not know GOD), then certainly we should not be going to them for advice regarding loss, grieving, or anything else, for that matter. Before dying, James was quoted as saying, "The most important thing before dying is relationship with family and happiness." That doesn't sound like GOD at all. You know who it does sound like?

Summit Christian Church encourages people to participate in AWANA. Just Google "AWANA is dangerous," and see what you find... more than I can list here. I will probably have to make a page for it. Or... for everything we discuss here.
Summit Christian Church recently celebrated 25 years, looking back on nostalgic moments like a man in a wig and a tootoo with fairy wand ribbons, or some others dressed up as KISS (the band), complete with making the devil signs.
This is new to us. DivorceCare provides resources for couples AFTER separation and divorce. Nowhere does DivorceCare or Grace Church Reno mention that GOD has commanded that no marriage be separated by humans. Do they condone divorce? There is no evidence available that they seek to prevent divorce or point people to denial of self and obedience to GOD (loving HIM).
Summit Christian Church invites people to particpate in MOPS. MOPS has been around a long time, and changed their name recently to "MomCo," since some countries found the name identifying women with cleaning a kitchen (mopping). They, apparently, did not change their name to escape the evidence mounting against them for false doctrine, false teaching, ecumenism, mysticism, and "New Age" elements.
Summit Christian Church invited Mike Foster of Second Chances, another secular organization (their entire website mentions GOD once - HE gives us value and dignity) who will help church members with their problems instead of GOD'S WORD. Also, partnered with MOPS.
Summit Christian Church quoted from the pulpit and encouraged on Instagram a false teacher in John Mark Comer (contemplative prayer, anti-disciple, New Age/mystic gurus, and much more.
Summit Christian Church promotes YWAM Reno, which has so many anti-BIBLE problems, I will likely need to make a landing page for this.
Summit Christian Church follows false teacher, Craig Groeschel on Instagram. Also follow Brandon Evans, a Multnomah University professor and pastor at Reno Christian Fellowship in South Reno. I confronted him about allowing women pastors and women teaching from the pulpit, and he defended it. Also follows Hillsong, Bethel Music, Hillsong United, Operation Christmas Child, Samaritan's Purse, Reno seeker-friendly/emergent church Grace Church Reno, Lincoln Brewster, and Hillsong Youth.
Summit Christian Church follows Compassion International, and Google says they are partnered with this organization... and normally I wouldn't quote Google, but they really nail it: "While Compassion International is a legitimate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a focus on child sponsorship and development programs, there have been some criticisms and controversies, including concerns about its financial practices and how funds are used, as well as allegations of fraud and scams.

Summit Christian Church supports many outreaches. Some are embroiled in controversy and facing very serious accusations. Those would include Mustard Seed Network... actually, that's the only one. It appears most of the things they donate to are legit. That's a green flag. Amidst all the deception, it's good to see that even in this, GOD can do good and provide.

Women Teaching Men
Summit Christian Church only has two women pastors, and they are over "Outreach" and "Kids". Technically, they have authority over men involved in outreach and perhaps also over men involved with the children. I wasn't going to red flag them, but they invited women to teach GOD'S WORD from the pulpit on Sunday morning, in direct violation of HIS WORD... to honor mothers, on Mother's Day.
NOT RECOMMENDED
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Summit Christian Church Reno for teaching of GOD'S WORD and genuine worship of HIM for those who are disciples of JESUS or unbelievers seeking THE LORD with all their heart.
However, SafeChurch aknowledges that Summit Christian Church Reno has a lot of potential and some wonderful, GOD-honoring things are happening there. Our prayer is that Summit Christian Church Reno would repent and do their very best to eliminate these dangerous elements. We would praise GOD even while they made their efforts, cheering them on, supporting them, and celebrating with them as they make progress. We would love nothing more than to one day recommend Summit Christian Church Reno as a place of worship our FATHER and LORD JESUS CHRIST, and even to partner with them.
Let us be in prayer for Summit Christian Church Reno and those attending, that our FATHER would open their eyes to see and their ears to hear what THE SPIRIT says to us. Let us pray they will repent and be restored and SafeChurch, like the prodigal father, would race down the driveway to embrace them, for the church was lost, but now is found.
